Hi Moms,

I had the brillant idea of putting a ring-assist on my 3 yr sometime son's honey stuffed animal to testify him that it does not hurt and will protect his wound. Not merely did he not purchase into the idea, now the band-aid is stuck on the stuffed animate being in a spot and I practice not know how to get it off. This, of course, is his comfort object whom he sleeps with and whom I need to be very gentle with b/c she is sooooooo important to our family.

As a side note, he stubbed/cut the top his big toe several days agone and I am keeping it clean but he keeps re-injuring it b/c he won't let me put a band-aid on it to protect it. It also is bleeding all over my house! Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

And then What Happened?

I love this website, cheers for all the skillful advice! The rubbing booze worked to go the sticker off the blimp animal and I too used the "new peel" liquid bandage on his cut while he was sleeping (which I feel a little guilty about) and just blew on it for about a minute to cutting the sting.

I tin can't assist with the animal either, sorry. Nonetheless my iii year erstwhile is terrified of bandages likewise.

I got the tattoo band aids, he happens to dearest "Cars" which these were. They don't look similar band aids, they are a diamond shape, and they have his favorite characters on them. We call so stickers, which he loves. He fought a piddling bit the commencement fourth dimension I did it merely loves getting to pick the character and showing off his "stickers" (they are usually on his knees) he has even corrected moms in playgroup who called them band aids, "no their my stickers"

Good luck!

I actually but had the same matter happen to my son, the toe function at least. He HATES band-aids and wouldn't let me put anything on his cutting. I finally started putting the product "new-skin" on the wound while he was sleeping and it immedietly started to heal. Not sure nigh the blimp animal! You'll probably merely have to pick it off every bit all-time you lot can.

Goo Gone is practiced at getting stickers off of apparel (normally after they've accidently gone through the washing machine). Information technology might assist. You tin probably detect it at Target or Walmart - it's a brown oily liquid sold in a small bottle.

I'm not sure what to do about the band-aid on the stuffed animate being, except to maybe try to launder it? If he'll allow you, tie it in a pillow case and see if that gets the spot off.
Virtually the toe, have yous seen that liquid rough-and-tumble? It puts a protective "blanket" (for lack of a improve word) over the wound. Then he won't accept an bodily band-aid, just it will be protected from re-injury and no claret on the carpet/piece of furniture.
Hope this helps.

HOW TO REMOVE STUBBORN BANDAGES FROM STUFFED-ANIMALS & Costly TOYS

Don't worry, this method using rubbing alcohol WILL work! Instead of panicking, merely tell your child that their beloved stuffed creature needs their special doctoring skills for their get-go surgery: a Bandaid-ectomy! Endeavor to make this a fun learning experience instead of a stressful 1. This volition merely accept most v-10 minutes to complete one time your materials are assembled. My 5 y/o daughter performed this operation entirely by herself (with my direction), and feels immensely satisfied and empowered by her successful effort.

Here are the supplies you lot'll need:
1) rubbing alcohol
ii) Q-tip
3) minor bowl
4) apartment-tipped tweezers
5) color-safe work surface, like a tray.

Note: information technology is possible that alcohol may remove some color or crusade it to bleed, so examination showtime on a subconscious department of material, and go along slowly and with care. However, I have tested this on a number of plush toys in all dissimilar colors (including bright blood-red), and not one had whatsoever damage or haemorrhage of colour at all. Fifty-fifty if color does bleed a fleck, the plush toy itself volition not be damaged (unless a role of information technology is glued together: think glued-on plastic googly-eyes).

A BONUS: Alcohol dries/evaporates quickly, and the minimal odor of the alcohol will besides dissipate quickly for a no-mess solution!

Pace i
Cascade a minor amount (~1 tablespoon) of rubbing alcohol in a small basin or loving cup. Using a Q-tip, dip in alcohol and swab entire outer surface of bandage, peculiarly the perimeter edges. Wait 10-15 seconds for alcohol to dissolve bandage adhesive.

STEP 2
Using flat-tipped tweezers (NOT betoken tweezers, which are more than likely to accidentally grab material and damage it), gently scrape the edge of the bandage using but 1 cease of the tweezers (in open position) until a small portion of the bandage is lifted. And then using both ends (in airtight position), gently grab the bandage and slowly elevator until the entire bandage is removed. Gently rub fur to re-fluff information technology, and PRESTO! The animal is all improve at present!

If cast resists removal, or breaks into smaller pieces which remain stuck, simply reapply booze (STEP one) and go along removing with tweezers until it'southward all gone. Just be patient, this WILL work!

Alternative Method Without Tweezers:
If you don't accept tweezers, cut the bandage in one-half through the centre of the section with the absorbent pad (where at that place is no adhesive). This will give you a small identify to catch the bandage with your fingers to elevator it.

no help with the stuffed animal, sorry. but as for the toe - my married man is an MD, and swears by putting a thin layer of crazy gum over the kids superficial cuts if they won't wear a band aid - it forms a protective layer over the peel, and wears off subsequently a couple of days. you just apparently take to be conscientious of what they come into contact with till it dries.
good luck.

(liquid band assist is only slightly modified crazy mucilage)
